World Wrestling Entertainment, known as WWE, is a very popular form of wrestling entertainment. In was established in 1952 and continues to be quite a money maker with an annual profit of more than $45 million. The concept for WWE wrestling was developed by boxing promoters in the late 1940’s who were making a living off of promoting exciting boxing matches.
The problem is that they were few and far between. The decided to start promoting a variety of wrestling events in Madison Square Garden. One of the professional wrestlers mentioned the idea of incorporating his new style of wrestling which was very appealing to the audience. He named it Slam Bang Western Style.
Many wrestlers signed contracts to perform in these events. The name of the organization was initial the World Wrestling Federation. However this was changed in 2002 to the WWE because of a lawsuit brought on by the World Wide Fund for Nature because the initials that were being used.
People of all ages seem to enjoy watching WWE wrestling and many wrestlers have found their name in the public eye being part of this association. There is plenty of action in this type of wrestling that people find entertainment. You will find children playing with WWE action figures and adults displaying t-shirts of their favorite wrestlers.
