Celebrating your anniversary can be a fun time to share with your family and friends. Many people plan anniversary parties when they are celebrating a milestone mark such as 10 years, 25 years, or 50 years. I recently attended a 50th wedding anniversary party that was lovely. They renewed their vows before the party and had the reception hall decorated with pictures of them then and now. It was a wonderful way for them to celebrate their life together with their children, friends, and family.
A wedding anniversary party can be casual or elegant. It can also be a large affair or one that is very intimate with only very close family and friends. In some instances a surprise party is presented for the couple. However you have to be careful because they may already have other plans for celebrating their anniversary. It is perfectly acceptable to approach the couple though and ask for the honor of hosting their anniversary party. This way they can enjoy it without having to worry about all the preparations for the event.
It is important to plan the aspects of the anniversary party early. After you have created the guest list you can start looking for a place to hold the event, caterers, music, and any other elements of the party you wish to incorporate. If you are on a low budget for the party ask friends and family to offer their assistance. You will find many people are willing to buy decorations, donate food, and even help get the party tables and chairs set up.
If the couple asks for no gifts then you need to respect that request. This is very common for couples who have been together for a very long time. They simply want to be able to celebrate the event with those they care about. It is acceptable in these types of situations though to bring a card that expresses your wishes for them. Regardless of how you choose to host an anniversary party it should be a fun celebration that brings back glorious memories of the years spent together.
