Informational Articals - Nuns Habits
Many individuals think of a Nun as a woman who spends all of her time praying. While that is one of the habits they do participate in many times each day, the habits of a Nun cover so much more. The life of a Nun is completely dedicated to the Church and to serving God so her daily habits will encompass doing things to please both. Most Nuns are very compassionate and they are aware of the various issues that seem to be causing so many problems in our society. Nuns are quite generous with their time so they often volunteer to teach classes and to work with individuals in need.
The mission of many Nuns is to teach other people about God and how to commit there lives to him. This doesn’t mean they are out there attempting to recruit all women into becoming Nuns though. It simply means they work hard to teach people how to live their lives according to what God would like them to do. Nuns don’t care about possessions because they are only concerned with helping others. They have their basic needs met by the Church and the convent where they reside.
Community outreach by Nuns is very important. They are trusted members of the community that many people look up to. Nuns are able to raise money for various causes, to help the poor, get medical care for those who need it, and offer assistance in the face of an emergency situation. The amount of community outreach the Nun is able to do depends on the religion she is associated with. Some are more open with the public than others so this will be a factor to consider.
Nuns are very dedicated to their causes and you can be assured almost every Nun that takes the oath to serve God in this respect remains with the convent until their death. The other Nuns in the convent become their family and friends and they take care of each other in every way possible. A convent is a very close community where God and love are abundant. Sometimes Nuns will transfer from one convent to another in order to take on an important role that needs to be filled but this is quite rare.
