There are two main types of jobs to be found in the many gulfs around the world – commercial fishing and extracting oil. Both of these jobs require individuals to be at sea for large amounts of time. These gulf jobs often pay well as millions of dollars worth of sea food and petroleum are removed from the bodies of water annually.

For any gulf jobs relating to petroleum extracting, individuals have to be very hard working. The shifts are long and the work is strenuous. There are also plenty of jobs for individuals to test the products they have found, track the number of barrels of oil produced, and provide safety training to the employees. Since they are on the waters for months at a time there is generally a cook and medical professionals along to provide such services.

There are gulf jobs in the petroleum industry for individuals with degrees in areas of technology including computers as well as for engineers. There are also plenty of jobs for entry level employees who really need a job and they are ready to work hard. These types of jobs are often related to deepwater drilling.

With so many people on the water in the gulf areas working there is always a need for rescuing them. The Coast Guard often has rescue resources in place including boats and helicopters to perform miraculous rescues for those on fishing boats and oil refineries that need assistance. There also work hard to notify the crew of such boats that there are dangerous weather alerts such as hurricanes and floods that they need to be aware of. The more people they can prepare for such natural disasters the less lives are lost.

Being a coat guard in the various gulfs is said to be one of the most demanding and stressful jobs there is. Each decision you made affects who is going to live and who is going to die. You have to be ready to work on a moments notice and also be able to swim in the strong waters of the gulf areas. Being a coast guard in this type of position requires you to be a strong swimmer and willing to put you own life on the line to save others.
