Informational Articals - Gravity - Gravity Acceleration

Any object that is in the air on Earth will have to fall to the ground or other foundation due to the Laws of Gravity and how they apply. With that being said any object that is to be suspended in air needs to be attached with the very best techniques and checked often for stability. The scientific formula symbol for gravity acceleration is “g”.

The concept of gravity acceleration applies to the concept that as something drops it gains momentum. Research has shown that the rate of acceleration is the same for objects of various weights and sizes. It is only the issue of wind and air resistance that makes it appear that the gravitational pull is different. Even though a feather and a rock will fall to the ground at different rates the both have the same amount of gravity acceleration behind them.

The rate of gravity acceleration is different based on the location of the object. This has to do with the process of the Earth rotating around the sun. The force of gravity is higher as you get closer to the equator so the gravity acceleration is much faster than in areas that are far away from the equator. The faster an object is able to accelerate the more velocity it is said to have.

John Paul Strapp is credited with being able to successfully introduce the concepts of early scientists in relation to gravity to modern times. In 1946 he was the first to break the sound barrier in an aircraft. It is due to his experiments that the term "g’s” is applied to the speed of aircrafts today. With his concepts of gravity accelerations in relationship to aircraft he was able to implement successfully safety procedures to help save military pilots who were involved in accidents in their aircraft. He is credited with saving many lives due to the redesign safety harnesses in such aircrafts.

The concept of gravity acceleration has been applied to many other types of industry including industries. They have learned how to use gravity to move products from one area to another without depending on machinery or humans to do the work. There is still plenty of research taking place in the area of gravity acceleration.
