Fairy tales are timeless stories that can be told orally or books that are read to young children. These fairytales feature various characters who are looking for a way to live happily ever after. In fairy tales there are many stories to be told and evil is always conquered by love. Fairy tales allow children to live in a fantasy world as they enjoy the stories over and over again. They can even add their own variations to the stories to make it suit their liking.

Young girls enjoy the fairy tales that are about beautiful princesses being rescued by a handsome prince who vows to love them forever. Young boys relate to the heroism of the prince and his bravery for fighting the different evil monsters and dragons along the way. It seems that fairy tales are popular in all the different cultures as the names of the characters and the different experiences are changed to fit the events that take place for them.

Due to the advances in technology fair tales are now available in very colorful books. Even children who can’t read yet are able to enjoy them because there are books that come with cassettes to listen to while they turn the pages. Others allow the child to touch the words on the page and the fairy tale will be read to them. Many fairy tales have become classic films as well by Disney, Pixar, and other top companies. Disney often releases these fairy tales only for a limited amount of time so people quickly buy them to complete their collection.

One of the reasons whey fairy tales continue to be so popular is that they allow children to enjoy fantasies about a world they do not really life in. However many children dream about being able to find true love and to be able to bravely fight all that comes there way. Fairy tales contain plenty of common elements that can be applied to children in any economic situation or who live in any generation. Therefore fairy tales are timeless in nature and they continue to be a very popular form of entertainment for both children and adults.
