Informational Articals - Eggs
Eggs come from chickens and they have many wonderful uses. Eggs are a common food many people eat. Since they don’t cost very much eggs are a good choice for those who are on a tight budget. You can add various cheeses, meats, and vegetables to make delicious meals with plenty of taste. While they can be a good source of protein for you eating too many eggs can lead to high cholesterol.
Eggs are a very common ingredient in many main foods as well as delicious desserts. Meatloaf is held together by the eggs that are in the mixture. Most cake mixes, muffins, and even pies have eggs or egg whites as an active ingredient that helps the final product look and taste the best it can.
Eggs are sold in cartoons of six, twelve, and eighteen for your convenience. You will see a grade on the side of the carton that tells you the quality of the eggs you are purchasing. The best are grade AA but grade B eggs still taste good. They often have a thinner shell though so they aren’t the best for making hard boiled eggs.
One of the busiest times of year for egg sales is right before the Easter holiday. It is a tradition in many cultures to boil the eggs and then color them with dye, crayons, paint, and other types of crafts. Thousands of cartoons of eggs are sold annually just for this occasion.
Of course raw eggs also come in quite handy around Halloween. That is to pull pranks of throwing them against the home of other people! You have to be careful though because you can get yourself into trouble with the law if you get caught. It seems that those who are on the other end of this particular prank don’t see the humor in it.
Not all eggs are for eating though as some of them are for decoration. Faberge eggs are those that have the yolk blown out of them so that only the delicate shell remains. The shell is then painted with beautiful colors and designs. Most Faberge eggs are placed inside of a display box so that they don’t get destroyed.
