Luck Articles - Bad Luck

Have you ever heard someone say if it wasn’t for bad luck they would have no luck at all? These people tend to have situations in life that repeat themselves over and over again. They may have one failed romantic relationship after another, have trouble maintaining a job, and always be struggling financially. While bad things can happen out of the blue what is coined by bad luck by some is nothing more than bad behaviors and bad choices that they continue to participate in.

Many individuals who believe in bad luck are also very superstitious. They go out of their way not to create bad luck for themselves. They will only pick up a penny on the ground if it is face up. Otherwise it is a symbol of bad luck to them.

They may anticipate bad things to happen to them if a black cat crosses their path. Many individuals take personal days from work on Friday the 13th because they aren’t going to take any risks. Let’s not forget the old wives tale that breaking a mirror will result in 7 years bad luck either.

It is very possible that these beliefs can cause a person to have bad luck in their own way of perceiving things. You do have to ask yourself though if you would have torn your dress on the way to work even if you hadn’t see the black cat! Many researchers think individuals can predispose themselves to bad luck by subconsciously setting themselves up for failure.

There are many individuals out there who make no effort to improve their life. In fact they may be engaging in self destructive behaviors and then blaming themselves for it. Losing your job can be considered to be bad luck but if you continually didn’t show up as scheduled you do have to accept some responsibility for your role in the outcome.

The concept of bad luck often comes with the territory for individuals who have low self esteem. It is often viewed as a coping mechanism for getting them through the day. If you can take such individuals and get them to change some of their behaviors and their attitude then they may discover their luck is slowly changing for the better.
