If you think kitesurfing is something you would like to try sign up for some lessons. Since the equipment is so expensive don’t buy it until you have completed your lessons. In the mean time you can rent the equipment you need from the instructor. In many cases the equipment is included in the cost of the kitesurfing lessons.
You will find some waterways are better for kitesurfing than others because of the wind factors. You may know where a beautiful body of water is but if there isn’t sufficient wind then you won’t be able to kitesurf. Likewise if the wind is very treacherous then you need to be extremely careful. Accidents can easily happen if you don’t have control over your equipment. High winds will often render you powerless.
Make sure kitesurfing is allowed before you travel to a body of water and start doing it. More water areas are allowing it but it is banned in some and you will be fined for such activities. Generally kitesurfing is allowed anywhere waterskiing is allowed but make sure you find out in advance.
