Greece is a historical location that comes with many great stories that are intertwined. Many of these stories are mythological in nature telling of the various gods and people of that time. Most of them were passed down from one generation to another orally and they included the rich history of the Greek culture. However written accounts of the games show they took place every four years in Athens. It is believed they took place in April of 1896. Participants came from all over to be in the games. While the location changes for each of the Olympic Games the tradition of every four years remains in place.
Greece is a beautiful place, full of gorgeous mountains to gaze at. The most popular is Mount Olympus. In Greek mythology this is the mountain where the Zeus and the other gods resided. It is also very close to bodies of water making it an excellent place for a romantic vacation. The climate is typically warm and sunny so both the beaches and the mountains can be enjoyed. There are periods where snow blows in making the entire scene absolutely breathtaking.
Today Greece is a very popular tourist location due to the beauty of the land and the number of attractions. People come to visit the ruins of the amazing architecture in Greece. Tourism and the shopping industry are the primary generators of income in Greece. Due to the convenience of the water ways shipping is also a profitable entity. Overall the people of Greece have a very high standard of living. The main religion here is Greek Orthodox with 98% of the population conforming to it.
