Global Warming Articles - Global Warming Research

There is a great deal of ongoing research concerning global warming. In addition to monitoring the increase over time the effects have on the Earth, research is being done to figure out ways to reduce the effects. There are charts and graphs that show the level of the Earth’s temperature since 1860. The result of it definitely show that global warming is continuing to be a more difficult problem. Part of it is due to the technology and the industrialization that has continued to grow over the years.

The global warming research that tracks the temperatures and the weather patterns on Earth are significant to cause alarm as well. The record temperatures in 1999 were the 5th hottest in the past 200 years. There has also been an increase in the past decade of natural disasters including hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. Researchers believe this is due to global warming issues.

Researchers are noticing significant changes in the elements around the world due to these warmer temperatures. Layers of permafrost are starting to melt as are glaciers. Some scientists estimate all of the glaciers currently found in Glacier National Park will be fully melted by 2030. This is eight times faster then the glaciers were melting 200 years ago. Where will all of this water go?

The coral is being affected by global warming as well according to research. This is due to the amount of CO2 in the water. Research shows that coral life has already decreased by approximately 15% as a result. It is estimated this statistic will be around 30% by 2065. Some top scientists believe that the entire coral reef will be depleted within the next 100 years unless significant changes are made to stop the progression of global warming.

It the current research on global warming is correct the core temperature of the Earth will rise another 10 degrees by the year 2100. This is causing alarm because the research shows that a temperature change of only three degrees will have a significant impact. The impact isn’t fully known though but it is believed some areas of the world will suffer from it more than others. Hopefully enough can be done to prevent these predictions of global warming research from becoming a reality.
